ABOUT US...
Beth, Carson, Denton and Allen Good
Located in Long Valley, South Dakota nestled
beneath Eagle Nest Butte, the Good Ranch has
been in the family for 70 years. Gordon, son of
Alfred and Peggy Good calf roped and team roped
in the NRCA and SDRA during the 1960's and
70's. In 1962 Gordon married Janet Peterson
from Martin, South Dakota. To this union came
3 children, Allen, Darin and Debbie. As the
children grew to like the sport of rodeo, Gordon
and Janet concentrated on hauling them to Little
Britches and High School Rodeos. Allen and
Darin thrived in the steer wrestling event. In
1979 Gordon built an indoor arena, called on a
good friend, Wayne Cornish to teach the boys the
basics of the event, and purchased from him
their first steer wrestling horse. They
continued to rodeo with this same horse through
High School and College rodeo and bought their
PRCA permits while still in high school. Their
sister Debbie, also participated in 4H, Little
Britches, High School and College Rodeos with
breakaway roping, goat tying, and team roping
being her favorite events.
In
1993 Allen married Beth Kite, a Wisconsin
native, who also participated in Little Britches
and High School rodeos in the various girls
events. Born of a rodeo family, she was able to
adapt to the ranching, rodeo and horse training
way of life. After a 4 year span of working for
World's Toughest Rodeo, they came home to the
family ranch to concentrate on raising, training
and selling quality performance horses with
steer wrestling and hazing horses being their
specialty.
"With this being truly a family affair, a normal day consists of Mom
(Beth) running the chute, Grandpa Gordon hazing, and Dad (Allen),
Carson, & Denton training the steer wrestling horses."
Thanks for stoppin by!
